Wawatay Hydro

Overview

The Wawatay facility is located on the Black River in Northern Ontario. The facility captures the energy of water to generate electricity. With the use of three horizontal Francis turbine/generator sets, Wawatay converts the energy of moving water into electrical energy, which is then delivered through a six-kilometre transmission line to Hydro One's grid.
